About Me

I'm entering my 23rd year in education and have taught multiple grades, from pre-k to eighth, in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Bullitt County, and Jefferson County at Farnsley, Brown, and now Western Middle School for the Arts. I'm passionate about writing, both as an educator and as a professional storyteller. I am a proud member of the 2019-2020 CTEPS cohort, a group of classroom teachers using action-based research to transform education. I'm also honored to have been a part of the Anti-Racist Classroom cohort of 2020-2021 and am currently working with Teams of Teachers for Equity, both from the JCPS Department of Diversity, Equity, and Poverty. I've led professional development sessions through The Louisville Writing Project, Kentucky Department of Education, JCPS Deeper Learning, and most recently, the Academic Innovation Summit. I'm a National Board Certified Teacher and a proud mother of two JCPS students!
