Dear Pathfinder Families!

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves! We are the School Counselors for Pathfinder School of Innovation. Prior to joining the Pathfinder School of Innovation Counseling Department, Mrs. Lively taught middle and high school science, where she also coached several dance teams. Mrs. Lively is excited to work with students at Pathfinder Middle School!

Role of a School Counselor

Our role is to support student's academic performance by providing social/emotional, academic, and career-related support/interventions. This may include in-class lessons, brief individual counseling, peer mediation, small group counseling, and other targeted interventions. We also can serve as a liaison/advocate for parents and students when working with education staff.

Our school counseling program is designed around Pathfinder Middle School’s unique needs. On an annual basis, the school counseling department conducts a referral survey to determine our students’ needs and design a tiered intervention model based on these needs. Our goal is to provide resources that are useful and engaging to both students and parents alike!

When should I consider contacting the school counselor?

-If your student is experiencing any social/emotional distress

-If your student has an academic concern

-If you notice significant changes in your student’s behavior
