We have outlined procedures for all common areas, drop off and pick up points, classrooms and hallways below. Please click on the arrow to the right of the item you would like to view to see more information.
Entry into the Main building will be limited to 3 entry points (see below).
All students will have their temperature checked upon arrival. If able (while considering cultural and religious beliefs), students will be asked to remove head garments that may increase forehead temperature (hat, hood, etc).
If the student has a temperature greater than 100.4 the student will be allowed to rest for 10 minutes before rechecking in the designated quarantine area based on entry location (see below).
Once the student has been checked into school, they will be issued a wristband to wear throughout the school day.
Contact Tracing will be possible because the same buses will drop off and pick up at the same location each day.
Busses will be assigned one of the three entry points as a drop off / pick up location at which they will pick up and drop off students daily.
Check-in stations will end daily at 7:50 at which point late arrivals (anyone arriving late after 7:50) will enter through the cafeteria and have temperature checked and be checked-in by the attendance clerk before being admitted to class.
Breakfast will be provided at each check-in station.

Masks should cover the nose and mouth at all times.
Students must wear masks at all times including in the hallways.
Signs will be displayed throughout the school building to help maintain social distancing.
Hallways will be marked with arrows and stairwells will be marked for up and down use only.
Custodians will sanitize hallways regularly throughout the school day.
Students will travel the hallways maintaining social distancing and following arrow signs posted on the walls.
Students are to walk with right shoulder against the lockers. This will ensure hallway traffic will flow and students will not gather in the center of the hallways.
Stairwells have been marked as up only and down only.
We will have two stairwells in the main building for up traffic only and two that will be marked down only.
In our tech building, the back stairwell will be up only and the front and side stairwell be down only.
In the morning, before 1st period, all stairwells will be up. In the afternoon at dismissal, all stairwells will be down.
Instruction Modification
Lessons and activities that could compromise social distancing will be modified. Teachers will develop classroom procedures that do not compromise social distancing. All teachers will have an entry/exit plan for students entering and leaving the classroom.
Student movement while in the classroom will be minimal.
Classroom Setup
Desks will be arranged so students are all facing the same direction. Students will maintain 6 feet of distance between themselves in the classroom.
All teachers will have an entry/exit plan for students entering and leaving the classroom.
When possible, extra furniture will be removed to further socially distance students.
All teachers will place printed copies of their seating charts in the RED BINDER to be utilized by substitute teachers who will not have access to the teacher's seating charts in Google Docs and/or IC.
Students will be required to wear a mask in the classroom and during the entire class period.
Students will be required to socially distance while in the classroom and during the entire class period.
Students will be required to remain seated while in the classroom and during the entire class period.
Students will be required to sit in the same desk each day and during the entire period.
Students are encouraged to bring their electronic devices (chrome books, cellphones, tablets, etc.) to school each day for use in the classroom.
Classrooms will be sanitized each evening by the custodial staff, and a deep cleaning of all classrooms will occur on Wednesday of each week.
Breakfast
Students will check in at one of the three (3) stations when entering the building, then proceed to the breakfast kiosk to pick up breakfast. Students will take their breakfast with them to their designated area (before 7:30) or classroom (after 7:30).
Breakfast kiosks (3) will be ready by 7:00 and operate until 7:40. Cafeteria kiosk will stay open until 7:55 for late arrivals.
Teachers will allow students to eat in their classroom and all trash will be placed into large trash bag, then tied and placed into hallway for custodial pick up after 8:00 AM.
Lunch
Students will be called over the intercom to be released. (approx. 15 classes at a time, Group 1,2,3)
Students wanting to get a lunch from the cafeteria will use the back stairwell and line up and stay 6ft apart, overflow will go into the main hallway towards the side entrance. Students will then take their lunch to the Old Gym to eat.
Students who bring their lunch or who want a bag lunch, will use the front stairs and go straight to the Old Gym to eat.
Desks will be set up in the Old Gym in a 15x15 square (225 desks) all facing the same direction and placed 6 feet apart. Students will be assigned desk based on their teacher’s name. Students will be in an assigned desk or table/seat. This desk will be assigned to the student for the remainder of the year. A seating chart will be utilized daily and if a student is absent, the seating chart will indicate the absence of that student.
All lunchroom seating charts will be kept on file for contact tracing purposes. Lunchroom seating charts will be housed in the red binder, Google Docs, and Infinite Campus.
PRP has designated a Health Room in the Tech Building adjacent to our Park DuValle Health Clinic.
Students will be escorted to the Health Room when they are exhibiting signs of being sick. Teachers will have the student wait in the hallway in an isolated area away from other students (in and out of the classroom) for a member of the escorting team to transition that student to the Health Room. The student will have an option to be seen by the nurse practitioner at Park DuValle Clinic. If the student sees the nurse practitioner, they will then take over by signing the student in, and taking over that student's "case". At any time during school or after in which a student or faculty member tests positive for Covid, the reporting student, parent, or faculty member will notify Karen Willman, principal’s secretary, and then she will immediately notify Jason Stinson, our Healthy at School Officer. After Mr. Stinson has been notified, records will be required from all teachers in each room in which the infected member has had contact, including the lunch seating for the cafeteria.
All documentation will be given to the Healthy at School Officer, and they will complete the JCPS Reportable Disease Form and then notify Health Services immediately. If a student or faculty member are showing Covid symptoms and have to leave the classroom/facility, an empty room will be available for the class to move to while the original classroom is sanitized. There will be an additional seating chart made for the holding room as well, and these records will be kept in the teacher’s red binder.
Classrooms will be sanitized throughout the school day as needed.
Hallways will be sanitized and cleaned regularly throughout the day.
High touch surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected frequently by the custodial staff.
Hard surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected.
Soft surfaces will be cleaned with appropriate cleaners and disinfectants.
All cleaning items will be clearly labeled and stored out of reach from students. Students will never come in contact with cleaning solutions.
Restrooms will be cleaned regularly.
Our custodians will work diligently throughout the day to maintain a safe environment.
In order to maintain contact tracing in our building, we are ensuring that our students always enter into the same place when they arrive to school whether it be by bus, driving their own vehicle or parental drop off. After students have their temperature checked and given a verification wrist band, students will be signed in and will be directed to a designated waiting area until the school day begins. Once in the classroom, teachers will keep records of attendance and a seating chart for each student, and these records will be placed in a red binder for tracing purposes.
For each lunch, students will also be assigned a desk, which will maintain social distancing and guidelines outlined in this re-entry plan. This information will also be kept in each of the binders in the students’ fourth period classrooms -or- the class in which the students go to lunch. The office will also keep official records of lunchroom seating charts.
