Curriculum

JCPS provides curriculum maps that help us determine what to teach/when. You can expect about 4 large units in English class and 4-6 units in Social Studies. In 6th grade English we will advance our communication skills and learn how to be better readers & writers. We will cover Narrative technique, information, and argument. In Social Studies we will explore the development of civilizations and early human cultures. I will communicate what we are covering throughout the year as often as I can. Student needs change often which may speed up or slow down our studies.
