Yes, we work hard, but we have a lot of fun, too. Our School Climate Committee develops a monthly program of events to facilitate connections and collegial relationships among faculty and staff. There are numerous opportunities to take part in spirit days, pot lucks, weekly Friday Happy Hours, staff gatherings before/after athletic events and dances, and holiday happenings. We also have a Hospitality Committee that honors pivotal events in the lives of our faculty and staff.
Our facility just went through a $54 million renovation. We have a new HVAC system that keeps our building comfortable, bright LED lights illuminating our classrooms and hallways, and gorgeous common areas that are open for scheduling your next learning activity. Our Ursa Innovation Lab, our makerspace, is a remarkable place for staff and students to develop and create anything they can imagine! Plus, we have a class set of virtual reality headsets that can take learning and creativity to the next level!
Our faculty lounge & workroom is bright and cheery, and serves as the hub for many of our staff activities. Remember how the old water cooler used to be the destination for staff to connect? We have a commercial grade nugget ice machine in our staff lounge! While you are getting your cup filled with the best ice, you can catch up on all the latest happenings with your coworkers. We also have a dedicated "Mother's Room" for all our working moms who need to pump or just have a quiet moment.
