How to Setup Mailbox Delegation

(All steps below are done from the manager's mailbox)

1. Select root level folder

  1. Right-click on the exchange mailbox (i.e. john.doe@jefferson.kyschools.us).

  2. Click Folder Permissions.

2. Set Permissions on root folder.

  1. Select the Permissions tab.

  2. Click the Add button, and select the delegate from the GAL.

  3. Select the delegate.

  4. In the Permission Level drop-down menu, select the permissions for your delegate (i.e. Editor).

3. Select Inbox folder

  1. Right-click on Inbox. This should be just below your root level folder ( john.doe@jefferson.kyschools.us).

  2. Click Properties.

4. Set Permissions on Inbox.

  1. Select the Permissions tab.

  2. Click the Add button, and select the delegate from the GAL.

  3. Select the delegate.

  4. In the Permission Level drop-down menu, select the permissions for your delegate (i.e. Editor).

5. Set Permissions on Additional Folders (as necessary.)

  1. If you need to delegate access to other folders at the same level as Inbox, repeat steps 3 and 4 for that particular folder.
