Camp Meyzeek

Your first step into becoming a Meyzeek Bear!

Transitioning to middle school is a big step—Camp Meyzeek helps students explore, connect, and feel confident before the first day of school.

Students will engage in Math, Science, and Technology (MST) activities, meet staff, tour the building, and connect with future classmates.

Drop-off begins at 8:30 AM in the Breckenridge Street car rider line. Please do not use the Jackson Street main entrance.

Camp Meyzeek Registration

While Camp Meyzeek is designed for students, registration time allows families to take care of important back-to-school tasks. Parents are encouraged to complete forms online through Parent Place, but this is also an opportunity to finalize any required paperwork, pick up your child’s team assignment, sign up for PTSA, and learn more about athletics.

Registration will be held in an open-house format on July 28 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Families may enter through the back lot via the Breckenridge Street car rider entrance and use the rear lobby doors.

If your child is attending Camp Meyzeek, they may be picked up from the gym at 2:00 PM.

MST Discovery Experience

All 6th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in two STEAM classes during the school year, rotating through our three MST majors: Engineering & Design, Health Science, and Digital Communications.

This hands-on experience allows students to explore each pathway before making an informed choice. At the end of the year, students will select their MST major, which they will focus on throughout 7th and 8th grade.

Students will also explore our Fine Arts classes as part of their rotation. If your student is interested in Band or Orchestra, please indicate interest on the form below.

Transportation

If your student plans to ride the bus, visit the JCPS Transportation Portal for route details and updates. Families of car riders should complete the Google Form to request a car rider number. Car rider tags will be mailed home over the summer.
