About us

Iroquois was founded in 1965 due to the need for a new high school in Jefferson County, Located in the Beechmont neighborhood in Southern Louisville and next to Iroquois Park, Iroquois High School is 1 of the 14 JCPS high schools that make up The Academies of Louisville. Students have the opportunity to choose an Academy and Pathway in which to explore and prepare for a variety of potential career paths such as the Build Academy which which offers pathways in plumbing, welding, electricity, masonry and construction; and the Human Services Academy which includes Business/Marketing and Early Childhood Education; and the Create Academy with pathways in Engineering, Media Arts, or Culinary Arts.

Academies allow students to fully engage in personalized educational experiences that encompass multiple content areas and bring relevance to classroom instruction. As a member of their Academy, students enjoy a small community dedicated to supporting their future success.

Iroquois is home to around 1600 students representing over 40 countries. The diversity of the student population allows for unique opportunities for all students to learn about the world around them.
