The Office of Special Education and Early Learning (OSEEL) has revised the
Guidance Document for Individual Education Program (IEP) Development.
Mandatory Advanced Topics K-14: Specially Designed Instruction- GLEC
1.5 hours PD or EILA
Participants will learn about three high-leverage practices that are proven effective for students with disabilities. High-leverage practices (HLP) are often used as specially designed instruction (SDI) in IEP development. This session will highlight explicit instruction, specific feedback, and active engagement strategies. Participants will observe models of the HLPs, and engage in small group discussions and hands-on activities to enrich their understanding.
Mandatory New Hire IEP Development Early Childhood-Grade 14- GLEC
6 hours PD or EILA
This ASYNCHRONOUS training focuses on developing compliant individual education programs (IEP) for students with disabilities. Participants will learn how to draft present levels that support the rest of the programming within IEP, and carefully craft programming around individual student needs.

Individual Education Program: Progress Monitoring
3 hours PD or EILA
This online training focuses on progress monitoring tools for annual measurable goals. This session was required in 2022-2023; please be aware you may have already taken this as an Advanced Topic Session.
KDE Goal Monitoring in Infinite Campus

Participants will engage in 1.0 hours of asynchronous learning focused on utilizing progress monitoring tools within Infinite Campus. By doing so, participants will gain clarity o effectively monitoring progress on individual education program (IEP) goals for students with disabilities. Participants will learn various curriculum-based measures, direct measures, and indirect measures and receive a progress monitoring resource.
IEP Advanced Topics: Early Childhood
These sessions are in person. Check with your Early Childhood Team for more information. All Participants are attending by invitation only as a four-part series facilitated by the Anderson County Regional Technical Center (RTC) Team for School Year 2023-2024.
IEP for General Education Teachers

This session will give general education teachers tips for reading an IEP, participating in an IEP Meeting, and how to implement the IEP in the general education classroom.
IEP for Complex Needs

This session of IEP Advanced Topics focuses on students with complex needs. Participants will learn how to write present levels of performance, measurable annual goals and short-term objectives, specially designed instruction, and more, all for students with moderate and severe disabilities or other complex disabilities. This session takes a deep dive into the Alternate Assessment Participation Guidelines and discusses why students may or may not qualify to participate in the AA based on criteria set by federal and state regulations.
Developing A Trauma-Informed IEP

At the end of this session, participants will be able to articulate the relevance of trauma to educators and the impact of trauma on school functioning. Participants will be able to identify and model writing trauma-informed Present Levels of Academic and Functional Performance as well as trauma-informed Individual Education Programming goals.
Writing Present Levels for General Intelligence

This session will provide an overview of writing present levels of general intelligence. Emphasis on discerning skills from evaluation data relevant to general intelligence. Practice opportunities are provided using analog student data.
