Stephen Foster Traditional Academy is located in the inner city of Louisville, Kentucky, at 1401 South 41st Street. Foster Traditional was moved to a new location and opened a beautiful new campus in 2001. Historically, Our student population varies from 575 to 675 students.
Foster has a positive and inviting environment offering many district programs to support student success. We are a districtwide Traditional Magnet School, which means that any student can apply to attend Foster despite their geographic location in Louisville, and transportation will be provided by JCPS. Through the collective efforts of staff, parents, community, and our Family Resource Center (FRC), students receive a well-rounded education that meets their diverse needs.
Foster strives to ensure that all students succeed not only academically, but socially as well. Our shared vision is to equip students with the skills necessary to lead successful and productive lives; thus ensuring that they are prepared for college and/or the career of their choice.
Foster is a very open and inviting school to parents. Parents are always welcome to visit our classrooms to see what students are learning and how they are being taught. Come see our students and staff in action. We guarantee you will leave impressed!
