As an Explore Ambassador, they not only represent the Academy @ Shawnee, but they also represent Explore and themselves. Ambassadors are able to speak professionally to guests about Ramsey and the Explore program. It is a great opportunity to gain experience in public speaking and event planning. It looks great on high school application. Ambassadors have the opportunity to be part of the gifted and talented program.

Ambassadors have great learning experiences at their district-wide trainings throughout the year. They are able to hear from community partners, reflect on practices and demonstrate leadership skills such as effective communication, sales, public speaking alongside fellow district Explore Ambassadors.

Explore Ambassadors have opportunity to enhance their leadership skills throughout the year by being the face and voice of Shawnee Middle School as they engage in activities to promote Academy @ Shawnee. They are also provided ongoing learning sessions through which they can practice, reflect and enhance their strengths as leaders both individually and as a team.
