The Admission's team has begun processing and scoring applications.

Admission decisions will be sent via email early February.

*If you selected a duPont Manual as a JCPS 2nd choice you will receive an email with the duPont Manual Application materials after all JCPS 1st choice duPont Manual/YPAS applications have been processed, if seats are available. 2nd choice applicants will be ask to submit Manual Application materials in March 2026, if seats are available.

Read all the information provided for each magnet to understand the application expectations and information.
You must complete the JCPS Options and Magnet application 1st.

(You will be ask to enter your personID located in application conformation email from JCPS Options and Magnet.)

Have all application materials ready before beginning the online application submission.

Recommendations* are due January 5th, 2026.

*Recommenders will receive a digital form to complete once you submit your application - make sure you confirm the correct email address with your recommender.

2nd choice applicants will receive an email with the criteria portal in February if seats are available

-You will be required to enter your Person ID located on the confirmation email after completion of the JCPS application.

*If you applied after December 19, 2025 additional information will be requested if needed, after on time applications have been processed.

Manual Admissions Information

Applications will be reviewed through a process that evaluates achievement test scores, attendance, extra-curricular involvement, grades, personal essays, and recommendations. Application materials will be submitted via an online platform. An audition is part of the admission process for YPAS students in addition to the completed online application and JCPS application

Please note:

Residency in Jefferson County is required for admission.
School bus service is not available to all accepted students.
Transfer between magnets after enrollment is not permitted.

Prospective Student Experiences:

NON-JCPS Students only

Manual welcomes the opportunity to host 8th grade parochial, private, Anchorage, non-Jefferson County resident*, home-schooled or out-of-state students* through Prospective Student Experiences (formerly known as Shadowing). This student only experience will include a tour of our campus and question-and-answer panel with current students. It will provide the opportunity for prospective students from outside JCPS to explore all the school has to offer and highlight magnet-specific locations in our buildings. They will also interact with our current students who will share their own experiences and answer magnet specific questions.
