General Intellectual Ability - Administered in the fall to all students in 3rd grade
Specific Aptitude Ability (Math and Language Arts) - Identified using MAP data throughout the year, primarily in 4th grade; Potential Science eligibility is determined by the District Gifted & Talented Department and eligible students will be tested as 5th graders. Social Studies is determined in 6th grade.
Leadership - Screened in 4th grade
Creativity - Screened in 4th grade
Visual Performing Arts (Music, Dance, Drama, Visual Arts) - Portfolios are submitted to the District Gifted & Talented Department for review/scoring
Students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade are screened for Primary Talent Pool using both MAP/Brigance Data, student work samples, and teacher recommendation. If you feel your student might qualify for Primary Talent Pool, please contact Ms. Muldoon.
Primary Talent Pool is not available to students in 4th and 5th grade and does not guarantee placement in either Gifted & Talented or Advanced Program.
