This course focuses on the various processing stages, practices, and personnel in the criminal justice system. This course examines the problem of crime in American society. Both historical and contemporary components of the system, including the police, the courts, and correctional agencies are explored. This course is designed to provide the student with a broad-based understanding of both the effects of crime upon communities as well as the criminal justice system's response to crime in our contemporary society.

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION,  as this class meets on U of L Belknap (Main) campus. The class is 1:20-1:20 M-W-F. This would mean that your 4 A and 4B class would be off-campus and you would dismiss at 12:35 pm each day. JCTC Technical Campus is located at 727 W Chestnut St, Louisville, KY 40203. The GPA requirement is 2.0.

Jefferson Community Technical College is offering virtual dual credit classes to students. Students will work on these classes during the school day and will not need transportation as classes are completely virtual.
