The orchestra classes are open to students who desire to learn to play an offered instrument (violin, viola, cello and bass). In class, GEMS will receive guidance in techniques for producing proper tone, pitch, rhythm, posture, creative musicianship, as well as to learn the music literature, historical and cultural elements.

Orchestra is also a class designed to give students tools for collaboration, building self-esteem and confidence (achievement), opportunities for creativity and originality, and life skills (practice, commitment) through the discipline in learning to play an instrument.
