Applying to Atherton

NOTICE to 8th Grade Students/Families: If Atherton is not your reside or choice school and you wish to apply you MUST select to the Atherton-International Baccalaureate/International Studies selection for first choice. Check to see if you are in the Atherton Reside area.

The application period for all JCPS schools begins November 1st and ends December 16th. Applications will be completed from the JCPS Application website. Once your application has been submitted through the JCPS site and Atherton IB has been selected as the first choice, you will receive an email with the Atherton-specific application.

Take your time and provide your best effort on all parts of the Atherton application. This process is very competitive and your response to any part of this application may be the determining factor in your acceptance. Applications will not be reviewed prior to the end of the window so rushing to return an application will not improve your consideration.

Due to limited capacity: Atherton cannot consider any requests for applications if Atherton is not listed as a first choice school. If you do not list Atherton as a first choice school, determine another school as your next-best second choice; do not list Atherton as a second choice.

Schedule a Visit: Atherton offers small group tours for prospective students and parents during the JCPS application period. The in person tour provides you a snapshot of an Atherton school day while providing an opportunity to ask one on one questions regarding admissions, school culture, academics, and student life.
