My name is Kim Roush. I have been teaching in Jeffco for over 25 years mostly at West Woods Elementary and Drake Middle School. Student Data Protection
Excellence in education requires that technology is seamlessly integrated throughout the educational curricula. Increasing access to technology enriches the curriculum and empowers students to maximize their full potential.
Students are a part of a 1:1 Chromebook environment where Chromebooks are available for each student to use in the classroom.
Digital tools are used to supplement instruction and enrich learning. When evaluating tools for classroom use, student data privacy is a prime concern. West Jeff Elementary follows the Student and Data Privacy guidelines put forth by the Jefferson County School Board and the Colorado Department of Education.
The Data Privacy & Security page on the district website describes safeguards taken by Jeffco Schools to support data security operations
You can view the Jeffco Digital Tools Page for ALL vetted tools/sites.

One School One Book
Welcome to our Rotary Club Sponsored One School, One Book program for 2022-2023. Each West Jeff family receives a copy of the book A Boy Called Bat by Elana K. Arnold to read together as a family over a 3 week period. There is no better way to develop a community of readers than to read together. Classrooms also participate in activities connected to the book. And trivia questions throughout the 12-day period keep everyone engaged.
