National Public Lands Day

Next date: Saturday, September 24, 2022 | 08:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Celebrate the largest national day of volunteer service dedicate to public lands. This volunteer project is part of an effort to keep Lakewood beautiful and takes place in a Lakewood park each year.  

The 2022 volunteer day will take place on Saturday, September 24 from 8 a.m.-noon at the Bear Creek Greenbelt.

We accept volunteers 9 years of age and older, ages 9-13 must have a guardian with them when they volunteer Volunteers must complete an application, and those over 18 are subject to a background check. A letter of recommendation is encouraged, but not required.

COLORADO MOUNTAIN CLUB

Are you interested in being a mentor for youth over the summer for a week? If so, Colorado Mountain Club’s Adventure Camps want you! 

Serve as a Summer Adventure Mentor for a week of summer camp. Assist field instructors while helping students develop leadership skills and build a meaningful connection with the outdoors. This position is for students age 16 and up

NATIONAL WESTERN STOCK SHOW VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

The mission of the National Western Volunteer Program is to assist management and staff of the National Western in providing top quality service for exhibitors, patrons, and guests in the continued effort to be the top combination livestock show, horse show and rodeo in the world. We are a year round facility and often shows renting our facility request National Western volunteers to assist with their shows.

Volunteers have the opportunity to volunteer in many areas including the Kids Activity Pavilion, Coors Western Art Room, Guest Services, Horse and Livestock Show, Educational Programs, Information Booths, Photography, Ticket Taking, Administrative Support and many other special events during the year. If you are 16 years and older and interested in becoming a new National Western Volunteer then join us at one of our  Volunteer Orientations held in March, June and October to learn about the volunteer program, its mission and meet current volunteers. You will also find out how to become a year-round volunteer and talk with staff and volunteers about the many volunteer opportunities available to you. More details on the orientation will be sent after filling out a volunteer application.

Student Volunteers

Student volunteers ages 16 and up, (high school and college) are only required to provide 2 day and 2 evening shifts or 4 evening shifts during the Stock Show in January. Be sure to select “student volunteer” on your volunteer application.

LARADON 

Laradon, a nonprofit service provider of education and support to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is excited to launch its first established volunteer program in its 72 years of operation. This volunteer program will bring much needed assistance to the organization's 15 programs that provide a variety of services.

Volunteer groups, organizations, companies, and individuals are all welcome to apply for available opportunities such as Administrative volunteers with clerical skills, meal cooks and servers, classroom program and field trip assistants, drivers, maintenance, groundskeeping, and cleaning crew members, special events help (set up, registration, cleanup, etc)
