Wendy Legault

Literacy Interventionist

Hello! This is my 8th year as a literacy interventionist at Swanson! I have been teaching in Jeffco for 19 years with a variety of experience in the primary grades and prior to that 17 years in early childhood. I have a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  I am certified in the Orton-Gillingham approach to literacy through the Institute of Multi-Sensory Education.  I love working with students helping them to become life-long readers. Outside of school, I've lived in Colorado most of my life, I enjoy everything from hiking, golfing, fishing, camping and most importantly I love spending time with my family as well as my furry family, Stella and Roxie. Swanson is an amazing community, and I look forward to each new year with Swanson Families!

Claire Leichty

Special Education- Learning Specialist

I was born and raised in Ohio. I moved to Colorado in the summer of 2022 and joined the Swanson team for the 22-23 school year.  I graduated from the University of Toledo with my Bachelors in Special Education and received my Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University.  I have been teaching for 9 years in multiple different states and different types of classrooms.  I also worked as a behavior therapist full time for 2 years and part time for another year.  It has been a wonderful time joining this Colts family.

Outside of school, I love spending time with family and friends.  I do a lot of hiking and enjoy spending time outside! I swam in college so it is always fun to get back in the pool for a nice swim.
