Is STEP Up part of Jefferson County Public Schools? Yes, we are a community-based program under the umbrella of Jefferson County Transition Services (JTS) and Jefferson County Public Schools.

What Does Community-Based mean? We are integrated in the community as we work inside the Denver Federal Center. We hold classes inside Building 810 and have work sites throughout the Federal Center Campus. 

Does the program follow Jefferson County Public Schools calendar? Yes, we follow the same calendar, however students only attend the program Monday-Thursday.

Why does the program not take place on Friday? All JTS programs do not take place on Friday because the intent is for students and families to make connections outside of the school district. These Fridays allow students to attend other programs and/or find part-time employment that they will transition to once they have exited our program.
