About Me

My name is Mr. Whaylen, and I have the pleasure of teaching band and orchestra classes at Summit Ridge Middle School.

I am originally from the cold north woods of Minnesota and Wisconsin where the winters are way too long. I moved to Colorado in 2017 to take advantage of the amazing outdoor activities available in this state. In addition to playing music I love to ride my bike, camp, hike, and rock climb as much as I can.

Making music together as a community is a fantastic gift. I am so excited to share the joy of learning and growing in musicianship with our students.
