2026 SEASON INFO
PRACTICE
First day of official, mandatory practice will be this upcoming Monday, August 10th in Standley Lake's Aux Gym.
Practices for season will be Monday - Thursday 3:45pm-5:45pm in the SLHS Aux Gym.
Your gymnast MUST be registered and cleared in order to participate in practice. Please make sure to visit the SLHS Registration website for more information. For any questions regarding registration, please contact our Athletic Secretary, Courtney Baughman at courtney.baughman@jeffco.k12.co.us.
Just a reminder:
All athletes must register online and have a current CHSAA physical on file before the first official day of tryouts or practice — no exceptions!
Physicals last for 365 days, so please double-check your student’s physical will stay valid through the entire season.
The CHSAA Medical Eligibility Form will be the only accepted physical form — all others will be declined (see registration website for more info).
TEAM HANDBOOK
Please go over and sign the team (both parent and gymnast). Signature page due Monday, August 17th.
PICTURES
Pictures will be Monday, August 24th during practice time. I will let you know more information about how to pay, senior banners, etc. when I receive it.
TEAM DINNERS
I have created a Sign Up Genius for team dinners this year (one per week) for anyone wanting to volunteer to host a team dinner (please see team newsletter or email for information about that link to the Sign Up Genius). There will be an opportunity for a family to host a team dinner every week we have a meet. In the past, they have done a small craft at the team dinner which is a fun idea if you would like to do that! Please include the date you want to host the team dinner on that week and any other information you would like me to pass onto the team.
SPIRIT PACKS
Seniors are already hard at work on the spirit packs for this year! The cost will be approximately $100. I will gather gymnast sizes and more specific information in the first couple weeks of mandatory practice. I will give out more information about how to pay for those in the next few weeks once practices have started and we have sizes for everyone!
SENIOR NIGHT
Our Senior Night will be held on the Wednesday, October 7th home meet. Senior parents! Please email me with pictures to put in the slideshow. You can also share a google album (which may be easiest!) with my gmail address: aasmus@jeffcoschools.us.
GATOR GEAR
If you would like to purchase some extra Gator Gear, this is a great website. You can customize it almost anyway you would like. There is also a whole section for gymnastics in there!
SPORTSYOU COMMUNICATION APP
We have an app for communicating with gymnasts and parents this year called “SportsYou.”
Please have you and your gymnast download the app on their phone and then enter the team code to join:
You have been invited to SLHS Gymnasts on sportsYou.
Download the app here: https://sportsyou.app
Your team code is: (email for code :)
To learn more about sportsYou, visit https://www.sportsyou.com
Coaches are NOT permitted to communicate with individual gymnasts on Sundays per CHSAA. So if a gymnast reaches out to a coach via SportsYou on Sunday, they will not get a response until Monday. Coaches are allowed to provide whole team announcements and are allowed to communicate with parents on Sundays.
FLOOR ROUTINES/MUSIC
Due to copyright laws, individual gymnasts must purchase their own floor music with the license that allows them to play it in a “performance.” Turn in receipt into Alicia (alicia.willis@jeffco.k12.co.us) - these must be uploaded to the National Federation of State High School Associations.
Some places where you can get floor music from legally: NOT ITUNES
Floor Express, Energym, Jump Twist, Floor Tracks, Tune Gym
If you have your music and are ready to send me the receipt, please do so at any time!
MEET SCHEDULE
Here is a link to the meet schedule! It is early, so it may change slightly, but our first meet is Thursday, August 27th at Chatfield High School.
JOG IN THE BOG
Jog in the Bog will be happening on Saturday, August 22nd at 10:15am at College Hill Library. Register using this website. This is a great fundraiser that the SLHS Athletic Boosters puts on - we try to get as many girls and their families to come as possible each year. SLHS Athletic Boosters helps us pay for things such as mat tape, pizza for set up, helping with the banquet, etc. $15 of each registration is donated to the SLHS team, activity, or club you choose (choose gymnastics 🙂).
SPONSORSHIP FUNDRAISER
Does your company or do you know a company who would like to sponsor the gymnastics team?
Banner in the main gym or on video board
Let me know if you or anyone you know might be interested!
