Are you ready for the tournament?
Here's a checklist of things you may need:
Water Bottles
Sunscreen and Chapstick (with SPF)
Sunglasses if you like them when golfing
Hair Ties
Hat
Golf Shoes (waterproof preferred if there is dew in the morning, or rain in the forecast.)
Golf bag and clubs - clean up clubs and grips. Count your clubs, make sure you have 14 total clubs or less. The putter counts as 1
Push cart - umbrella holder and cup holder attachments with you, if needed.
Golf Balls (Range balls are not legal for play, so get them out of the bag)
A normal golf glove - you just wear one on your left hand if a RH golfer, and on your RH, if you are a LH golfer.
Could it possibly rain? Bring an umbrella and rain gloves. These will not keep your hands warm, but if the club may slip out of your hand, these are a must. You buy these in a pair.
Could it be very cold? Bring a set of winter golf gloves. They actually do help keep you hands warm. You buy these as a pair for both hands. They are worthless in the rain though.
The rain cover for your golf bag, if rain is in the forecast.
Tees
Sharpie to mark golf balls and paper/pencils to keep backup scorecard
The scorecard for the course and a yardage book if you have/need one.
phone with CHSAA golf app loaded - maybe an extended battery if needed
Directions to the golf course
leave in time to warm up before tee time
FOOD, you'll be out for at least 4-6 hours. Pack a meal that isn't just junk food.
Any medication you may need (inhalers, allergy, etc)
Personal products - hand sanitizer, covid mask, small roll of kleenex or TP - some of the courses restrooms are not country club style bathrooms. Be prepared.
Layers of clothing so you can adjust to the weather
Also, with this great big list, you still want to get the bag as light as you can make it, so you aren't hauling extra stuff around with you on your 8 mile hike (longer if you are looking for balls a lot).
You may want to have a backup set of clothing, shoes, socks, etc, in case you step in something uncomfortable or a bird poops on you (this is from experience and has happened)
