The Mental Health team at Devinny consists of Traci Rock, Social Emotional Learning Specialist, Laurie Perea, GT Social Emotional Counselor, and Megan Francisco, School Psychologist.
Hi! I´m Traci Rock, the Social Emotional Learning Specialist at Devinny. This is my first year at Devinny, but I´ve been in education since 2005. I have worked all over the state, in rural, mountain, and urban communities. I even served as a School Social Worker on an Native American Reservation for a time! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and earned my Masters' in Social Work from the University of Denver in 2002.
I am a Denver native, and I live with my partner. Our adult son recently moved to Texas, so we are doing a lot of traveling and having fun together. I also have 3 fluffy dogs that I love dearly...Shady, Cosmo, and Fitz. I love to be outdoors, camping, hiking, going for walks in the neighborhood, and canoeing. I'm also a die-hard live music fan.
I'm very excited about my new role as SEL at Devinny. Our students are so kind and friendly. I look forward to supporting their strengths and helping them learn Social Emotional skills that will make them successful throughout their lives! I am at Devinny Tuesdays-Fridays.
Megan Francisco is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist in her 7th year in Jeffco. She worked in Denver Public Schools for 10 years and in wilderness and community based residential treatment settings for several years prior to that. Megan received her B.A. in Psychology from Wesleyan University (in Connecticut). She earned her Ed.S. in School Psychology from CU Denver. When she's not helping kids learn and grow or collaborating with parents and teachers at Devinny, Megan loves hiking, kayaking, and biking with her husband and two boys.
Megan is at Devinny on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursday mornings.
I am the GT Social Emotional Learning Counselor (GT SELC) that serves Devinny and Creighton. I am at Devinny on Wednesdays and Fridays and Creighton on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I also serve at the GT District department on Mondays.
I have been a GT Counselor for 7.5 years and have worked in Jeffco for 18 years, including elementary and middle school. I’ve also worked in Special education and am endorsed in Gifted and Talented education from Adams State University. My educational background includes a BFA from University of Denver, an MA in Art Therapy from University of Louisville, and a Masters in School Counseling from University of Phoenix.
I’m a native of Jeffco and have raised three children, who are gifted, in Jeffco schools. It’s often said that it’s easy to raise GT children. The truth is that giftedness can come with many challenges especially on the social and emotional level.
I have served Devinny GT for 5 years now and greatly enjoy working with the students and staff. My role at Devinny is to provide whole classroom social/emotional lessons, small groups and individualized support for GT students. Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns.
