This will be my 15th year at Ryan Elementary, my 5th as a Learning Specialist. I spent my first 10 years teaching in the classroom 3rd and 5th graders. My own education has led me to a Masters in ESL Curriculum & Instruction and an endorsement in Special Education. I look forward to continuing my work - in classrooms - helping contribute to the fun, meaningful, and successful learning environment Ryan has to offer.
When I'm not at school learning, I enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking, reading as many books as I can, and practicing yoga. I look forward to working with you and our amazing Ryan families.
Hello! My name is Ms. Swann. This will be my fifth year as a Learning Specialist, but my first year here at Ryan. My fiance and I just moved to Colorado from Maryland! I have taught two years at the elementary level and two years at the middle school level. I am so excited to become part of the Hawk community! I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree in Multi-Categorical Special Education & Autism from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Although this school year will bring many new challenges, it is still my top priority to create a positive classroom environment where all students will have fun learning new skills and be successful each day!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy hiking, camping, traveling, crafting, reading and cooking! I also love playing volleyball and watching hockey, football, and college basketball!
This will be my 23rd year as a Speech Language Pathologist and my 12th year at Ryan. I have a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Fort Hays State University. I am dedicated to working with your children to increase their communication skills in fun and engaging ways while challenging them to push themselves to be successful.
When I'm not working, I enjoy getting outdoors and spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading books, being crafty, and exploring the countryside for old houses to photograph.
