I am so excited to join the Ryan family! I am coming from Three Creeks K8 in Jeffco. This will be my fourth year in kindergarten and my tenth year in education. I love teaching younger learners because everything is exciting and new!
I enjoy spending time with family, hiking, skiing, and making jewelry. My two daughters will be attending Ryan this year. They are going into fifth and third grade.
I am really looking forward to partnering with you to make the best educational expereince possible! Go Hawstars!

I am so happy to be part of the Ryan family! This is my 10th year teaching and 6th year at Ryan. My first year teaching, I taught literacy intervention for students K-6. I spent the next 7 years teaching 1st grade.
I am originally from the Bay Area, California. I received my bachelor's degree and teaching credential from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (the most beautiful, coastal town!) and have my Masters of Education in Literacy. I love teaching littles how to read and how to be good people in their big world.
When I'm not in the classroom, I love being in the sunshine and near water. I enjoy cooking and trying new restaurants, camping, reading, coffee, and spending quality time with my family.
Ryan's community is like no other, and I am so excited to be part of it with you!
Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Shawn Tateyama. My parents were Department of Defense Dependent Schools teachers so I grew up in lots of places overseas, mostly Italy, and didn't move to the United States until I came to CU Boulder for my undergraduate degree. I have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado, Denver with an endorsement in Reading and Writing. I have been a Jeffco teacher for 21 years and I have taught Kindergarten, 1st and 4th grades all of them here at Ryan Elementary. I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten this year and can't wait to get to know all the amazing little people that I am lucky enough to teach!
