Welcome to a wonderful year in 2nd grade! I am so excited to get the opportunity to work with you and your child! Teaching is my passion and I couldn't think of a better profession! I am going on my 24th year of teaching with experience in kindergarten, first, and second grade. I completed my master's degree in curriculum instruction and thrive on being a life long learner. I have taught in Jefferson County for 19 years and 4 years in the Boston area, where my children were born.
I have been married for 19 years to my husband, Scott. We have two children, Noah (14) and Addie (16).
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy hiking, running, skiing, camping, and overall being with my family and being outdoors. I also love watching my daughter cheer at games and my son play soccer!
I believe that all children are capable of learning and have a right to learn in a safe, positive and nurturing environment. I feel that partnership with teacher/parent is crucial in order for each child's success in the his/her educational career.

This will be my second year teaching! I got my bachelors degree in early childhood education from Colorado State University, and spent my first year teaching in Douglas County as a first grade teacher.
When I am not teaching I enjoy going to baseball games (Lets Go Mets!), going to concerts with friends, and relaxing at home with my family and pets!

Hi my name is Ruthann Elhard. I am from New York and moved to beautiful Colorado over 20 years ago. I have a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from NYU. I have taught pre-k, kindergarten, first, second and fourth grade for over 20 years.
I love teaching at Ryan Elementary School. It is a truly special environment, filled with teachers that collaborate and work hard to provide the best education for our students. I am happy to be back and ready for a wonderful year. I can't wait to meet all my students!
