READING

Your child is expected to read for 30 minuets everyday. We highly encourage you to read to your child and listen to them read in return. Please help remind your child to use their finger as they are reading. The physical pointing motion is helpful in directing and focusing the child on individual sounds within the word. It helps them keep their place and notice all the sounds in the word.

SPELLING

The spelling program that is used in our classroom was developed by Judy herself. Each child will receive 10-12 words on Monday and will be given a test on Friday. Spelling words are only given out if there is a full week of school, so if they are sick on Monday or if there is no school on Monday or Friday they will not receive spelling words.
