The Peer Counselors staff an office in the CHS Counseling Office and are available at the learning center for anyone to come in and talk, seek guidance, or set up an appointment for later. Peer Counselors undergo extensive training in a variety of skills, and act as a resource and support for numerous high school issues. Our program is aimed at assisting students in having the best possible experience they can while attending Conifer High School.
The main priority of the program is to provide support for those who need it. The peer counselors have been trained to deal with many issues such as stress, healthy & unhealthy relationships/friendships, family issues, emotional concerns, substance abuse, bullying, peer pressure, and conflict resolution.
The peer counselors are also very involved with the school. Whether it is planning diversity day or hanging up positive quotes for start with hello week, you will always find the peer counselors working hard to promote a positive atmosphere within our community. They also offer free tutoring every period of the day, all you have to do is ask!
The group of peer counselors is one of the nicest you'll find. In addition to offering support, the peer counselors offer friendship to all students. From hand delivering candy on your birthday to leading a tour for a new student, the peer counselors are always up for a nice hello, a warm smile, or a comforting hug.
