I am a proud member of the Columbine Community, living here for over 20 years.  Yes, you will see me shopping at King Soopers and out to eat at local restaurants, usually with my husband and maybe one of my kids.  All 3 kids have attended Normandy, and went to Ken Caryl Middle School, then Columbine.  Currently, AJ is at Columbine, M is at CU Boulder, and Connor is at Grad School at Grand Canyon University in Arizona.

I volunteer a lot for my high schooler's activities, so after school, I am a busy Momma!  When arriving at home, I am greeted by 2 crazy, white, fluffy poodle/terrier-mixes. ;)  They keep me company as I enjoy my Saturday afternoon naps,  reading a good book on the back porch, or when I am gardening in the backyard.

I grew up in Rochester, NY, attended SUNY Brockport and finished at CU Denver for my Masters.  Colorado has been home for 28 years, and I absolutely love this state.  This will be my 29th year teaching, every year has been at Normandy teaching 4th, 5th, or 6th grade.  

5th grade is one of my favorite ages to teach.  The kids are still 'young' and need a 'mom' every now and then, but they are starting to spread their wings and try some more ownership of tasks and life skills.

Thanks for being a part of my school year.  It will be a good one.
