My name is Amanda Garner, and I am a 4th grade teacher at Mitchell Elementary. This is my 14th year in the classroom, and my 11th year at Mitchell. I graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Native American Leadership. 

My passion is teaching reading, and I love working with learners from all backgrounds. During my free time I'm either rock climbing, hiking or kayaking with my fiancé Kyle, or snuggling with my kitty boys, Bob and Ziggy. 

I love all things Star Wars, and look for every opportunity possible to share that love with my students. My favorite "teaching tool" in the classroom is a blue lightsaber, and our class mascot is Baby Yoda.
