The 2025-2026 school year will be my eighth as a Charger and my 25th year teaching. I have been teaching in South Jeffco for my entire career, working with seniors and sophomores at CSH. I was also a reading interventionist and exploratory course teacher at Ken Caryl Middle School. Before teaching elective classes at KCMS, I taught English and English Honors for thirteen years.
I love getting involved with student activities, including Senate, Writing Clubs, Drama Clubs, and travel clubs such as Ski Club, sailing trips, and Washington DC trips. At Chatfield, I have been a Multicultural Alliance sponsor. I'm a fan of shenanigans.

I graduated in 2009 from the University of Denver with a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies and a concentration in creative writing. My favorite part of coursework at DU was working with Joe Hutchinson, Colorado's former poet laureate. Check out his blog post about my final project at DU - a poetry chapbook called Addressing 30.
In 2001, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Education from Colorado Christian University. At CCU I enjoyed singing in the University Choir.
I graduated from a small, private high school in Colorado Springs. We had an amazing theater program, and I was able to play some iconic roles, from Romeo & Juliet's Nurse to The Miracle Worker's Annie Sullivan. But we didn't have a football team, or a baseball team, or a lacrosse team. I'm looking forward to cheering for the Chargers this season!
Cats are evil. And wonderful. Picture credit to The Oatmeal.
Although I've been fighting it for years, my husband Torrey has finally convinced me I'm a cat lady. We live in Parker with our cats Ozzy & Puck, where the four of us can often be found curled up on the sofa watching Hulu or reading Stephen King. In the summer, you can find us at his family's cabin in the Taylor Canyon near Gunnison. In the winter, you may find me on my snowboard. During football season, you will find me decked out in orange. And this fall you can find me at Chatfield Senior High.
