                    Meet Your Teacher!

Hello Families! My name is Sarah Ferdig and I am excited to be your child's teacher! I am looking forward to all the great learning and connections that we will make in the coming year.

My husband Cliff and I live in Morrison. We are both Colorado natives; me growing up in Golden and he in Arvada. Can you believe we met at Casa Bonita where we both worked while in college? My kids were convinced at one time that I was one of the divers and their dad was the gorilla.  Eventually, we had to break the news to them that our positions were not that thrilling. We are excited to someday be able to go back to Casa Bonita now that it is open!

We have three adult children, all living here in Colorado. Our oldest, Nathan, is a Medicare insurance specialist and is the proud father to a bulldog named Apollo. Our second, Andrew, is an aspiring classical percussionist (while taking auditions, he is enjoying subbing for the Colorado Symphony, giving private lessons, and working at the Lamont School of Music at Denver University). He is the proud father of a cat named Aria. My daughter, Emma, is taking after her momma and is a high school science teacher in Greeley.  She is the proud mama of a dog name Arlo. We also have a dog named Bella, a cat named Aria, and a turtle named Shells. No grandchildren yet, but we love on our grand fur babies all the time!

My favorite activities (outside of teaching your kiddos) are walking, hiking, camping, reading, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. This summer I decided to try my hand at kayaking and loved it so much that I bought one of my own! In fact, the whole family joined in and we have spent many days enjoying the beautiful lakes we live so close to!

Teaching has always been my passion, although I didn't know that when I received my first degree in Human Services. I eventually went back to school to get my teaching license and Masters in Curriculum and Development. It was a great decision because I cannot see myself doing anything else. I absolutely love making connections with students and watching them grow and succeed over our year together. I have taught all grades except Kinder and 5th. I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year! It will be a great one!
