Symphonic Band

Required Daily Materials:

Coming to class prepared and with these required materials is reflected in student's work habits grade.

1) Instrument (mallets for percussion- see below) - Students are responsible for supplying their own instrument. My supply is limited so reach out soon if you would like to rent an instrument from the school.

2) Black 1/2 inch 3-ring binder with sheet protectors (10) - Every student must have their music every day.

3) Method Book- Students will be provided (through student fees) a method book at the beginning of the year. If it is misplaced, it is up to the student to purchase a new one in a timely manner.

4) 3 Pencils!- one for their stand, one for their case, one for their locker. "Musicians write it down! Amateurs 'remember'"

*I also recommend a water bottle.

Other necessary materials:

Metronome/ Tuner: I recommend Korg tuners (found at any reliable music store) or there some phenomenal apps for smartphones: Tonal Energy ($3.99) and Soundcorset (free)

Brass:

Woodwinds:

Percussion:

Listening options: Students are encouraged to listen to recordings.

Private lesson recommendations: COMING SOON! AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Instrument Repairs:

Below are the shops I recommend through personal experience. Please know that every trust-worthy shop can give you an estimated repair timeline. If the shop is estimating a repair time more than two weeks ask for a loaner and contact Mrs. Hann. Not every store can offer a loaner but I will do my best to find your student an instrument during that time.
