Teacher Bio
I am excited for another great year to be teaching at D'Evelyn. This is my fourth year teaching at D'Evelyn and my 14th year teaching overall. I attended both UNC and Metro for my undergrad, where I graduated from Metro with a B.A. in History and a minor in Education. I am highly qualified in both Math and History and recently finished my Master's degree in Math Education from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have taught 2nd, 5th, and 6th grades prior to joining the D'Evelyn team; 8 of those years being at Dennison Elementary.
Prior to my teaching career, I too was a D'Evelyn Jaguar! We are some of the lucky few who get to say we are or were D'Evelyn Jaguars! In high school, I was a cheerleader, ran and threw for the track team, was a member of the yearbook staff, and volunteered with various community service organizations. I am thrilled to be back at D'Evelyn teaching new and some former students, to be a part of such a wonderful community, and honored to teach alongside amazing teachers.
In my free time, I love-love-love to travel, spend quality time with family and friends, be outside, play board games, volunteer at church and for other organizations, and more. Some fun facts about me are: I love coffee, I like the Kansas City Chiefs (not a bandwagon fan), I am a Ravenclaw, I like minions, I love country music, but am a huge 90's boy band fan too. I'm a big Disney fan; Minnie Mouse, Beauty & the Beast, and Tigger are some of my favs. I especially enjoy going to the Disney parks. Only two parks left and I will have been to every park in the world!
