Welcome to the Library

Kirstin Pulioff, DTL

I am thrilled to the Digital Teacher Librarian (DTL) at Marshdale Elementary. I was born and raised in Southern California. I went to Oregon State University and got my degree in Forest Management. We moved to Colorado ten years ago, and I began my journey into the education field. I earned my Masters in Education from Western Governors University and Library Endorsement through CU Denver.

I taught 2nd & 3rd grade in Jeffco for five years before transitioning into the DTL role. I love getting to work with ALL students and find ways to inspire students to read and expand their technology knowledge.

Library Schedule

This year we have a two-week rotation for library classes. One week students will have library classes with a focus on literacy. The other week, students will have lessons related to technology, and STEM. Every week students will have the opporutnity to check out books.

One School One Book - 2024

Flora & Ulysses

It begins, as the best superhero stories do, with a tragic accident that has unexpected consequences. The squirrel never saw the vacuum cleaner coming, but self-described cynic Flora Belle Buckman, who has read every issue of the comic book Terrible Things Can Happen to You!, is the just the right person to step in and save him. What neither can predict is that Ulysses (the squirrel) has been born anew, with powers of strength, flight, and misspelled poetry — and that Flora will be changed too, as she discovers the possibility of hope and the promise of a capacious heart. From #1 New York Times best-selling author Kate DiCamillo comes a laugh-out-loud story filled with eccentric, endearing characters and featuring an exciting format — a novel interspersed with comic-style graphic sequences and full-page illustrations, all rendered in black-and-white by artist K. G. Campbell.

Student Data Protection

Excellence in education requires that technology is seamlessly integrated throughout the educational curricula. Increasing access to technology enriches the curriculum and empowers students to maximize their full potential.

Students are a part of a 1:1 Chromebook environment where Chromebooks are available for each student to use in the classroom.

Digital tools are used to supplement instruction and enrich learning. When evaluating tools for classroom use, student data privacy is a prime concern. West Jeff Elementary follows the Student and Data Privacy guidelines put forth by the Jefferson County School Board and the Colorado Department of Education.

The Data Privacy & Security page on the district website describes safeguards taken by Jeffco Schools to support data security operations

You can view the Jeffco Digital Tools Page for ALL vetted tools/sites.
