    For those of you that don’t know me, let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a Colorado Native and grew up in the northern part of Denver. This year will be my 32nd year as a teacher. 

    After graduating from the University of Denver with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, a minor in Physics and a minor in Elementary Education, I began working in Adams County School District 1, teaching 1st and then 5th grade.  

    Seven years later, I moved to the Cherry Creek School District where I taught challenge math to 2nd grade and remedial math to 1st-5th grade.  Missing the general classroom, I moved into a 2nd-3rd grade loop.  In 1999, I finished up earning my Master's of Education in Diverse Learners.   

    My home family life helped me see that I needed to make one more move to Jeffco Schools and to Maple Grove. While at Maple Grove, I have taught 2nd and 5th grade and have completed earning my endorsement as a teacher of the Gifted and Talented.

    My current home life finds me in Arvada, where I live with my husband and our son, Tony. I love reading, walking, and gardening. I’ve always known I’d be a teacher and love being in the classroom. I have high expectations for all of my students and enjoy watching them grow and glow.

    Throughout the year you can contact me several different ways. My preference is e-mail, although you can leave a message on my voice mail, or send a note with your child.  I usually check my voicemail daily before school and my email throughout the day.  I will do my best to respond as soon as possible.

    Thank you for your help in preparing your child for a fun year of learning in 5th grade.  I look forward to being your partner in helping your child excel!
