Vanderhoof Special Education Providers

I am a Jeffco graduate and a Colorado native.  I went to elementary school at Martensen Elementary, Everitt Middle School, and Wheat Ridge High School. Wheat Ridge is my stomping grounds.

I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I realized how important my teachers were to me. They gave me the tools I needed to be successful, and I hope to do the same for my future students. I love to teach students to read and I have a great passion for teaching. 

I love to cook with my husband and bake with my girls. I make the best spaghetti sauce-my grandmother's recipe.

I love to watch my daughters play sports and karate. I enjoy being active outside, especially going to the mountains.

I grew up in Southern California and moved out to Colorado in 2011.  I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Special Education from University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  In February of 2021, I completed my master’s degree in Reading with an emphases in Elementary from Grand Canyon University.  I am excited to be returning to Vanderhoof for a 6th year. 

When I am not at school, I enjoy reading books, spending time with my family, gardening, and spending time outside.  My husband and I have three daughters.  As a family, we love to go outdoors to take hikes, go to rivers to play in the water, and take family road trips during the summer. 

I am the new part-time learning specialist here at Vanderhoof. This is my first year as a roadrunner and I'm very excited to join this community! I've been teaching in Jeffco for 8 years, I am a Colorado native.  I believe in the power of learning and love to learn new things. I look forward to learning alongside this community, it's going to be a great year!

 I'm a Colorado girl, I love to do all things outdoors. A few of my favorites are paddle boarding, hiking, camping and fishing. I also love to read, garden, bake and try new foods. I am a foodie! I love to travel, I married my husband last year in the Hawaiian mountains. We have one daughter. 

This year marks my sixth year of teaching and my third year with Jeffco School District.  I grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and knew from an early age that education was my calling. Inspired by a teacher who believed in me and made a significant impact on my life, I knew I had to follow in his footsteps.  I grow more committed to my students with each year that passes.  I’m in the right place doing the right work.

I’ve been married for thirty years and my wife and I have two children. Our youngest is a high school junior, while our oldest is a senior at the University of Wyoming. We love spending time outdoors, whether hiking and biking in Keystone, or skiing near Laramie, Wyoming. In addition to our family activities, I enjoy running and have completed three marathons and several half-marathons with my wife. At the end of each July, you’ll find me at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo working on the Contestants’ Committee.
