Meet Mrs. Benedetti!
I have been a teacher at Elk Creek Elementary School for 20 years. One of my favorite places to be is in a classroom, and I have a true passion for teaching.
I am married to Bill and we have a 30 year old daughter named Alison who is engaged to be married in May, 2023. We also have two black labs named Elston and Reggie. I enjoy traveling, kayaking, reading, doing puzzles online, and taking naps. I am a die-hard Bronco's fan, so you will often see me in orange and blue.
This will be my last year of teaching and I will very much miss being among kids all day. However, I look forward to retiring on Lake Coeur d'Alene in Idaho with Bill.
My door is always open, so feel free to reach out if you have questions, concerns, or success stories about your student. The best way to reach me is through my email at kbenedet@jeffco.k12.co.us. I try to get back to families throughout the day or in the evening.
"It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” – Confucius
A growth mindset for kids is beneficial because it helps them grow and improve their skills and become better at whatever they are doing. They don’t accept initial roadblocks as permanent limitations.
In fact, children who are taught to have a growth mindset are encouraged to view their failures as an opportunity to learn and grow rather than just the end of the road.
A growth mindset boosts resilience in students, increases their confidence and self-esteem, and makes it easier to bounce back from the disappointment of defeat.
