Work Habits
Work Habits grades will be based on your work in class (CW) and on your completion of the homework (HW). This work is graded on completion. CW & HW are for practice and to figure out what you understand, what you need more practice with, what you are confused about. I will be checking your work in your notebooks and will initial your weekly agenda when you complete the work. Agendas will be collected weekly, usually on a Monday, and this will be your weekly work habits grade.
Content Knowledge
Content knowledge grades will be based on the following categories: quizzes and Mid/End Unit Exams. I am a firm believer in recognizing our own mistakes and learning from them. Please take the opportunities given to learn from your mistakes and improve your grades. Mistakes should always be expected, inspected, and respected!
Quizzes
These will occur the most frequently and be worth less than the tests. Quizzes will cover need-to-know skills and can be REDONE.
To redo a quiz students should either practice on Khan or get help from someone in the know - might I suggest myself.
If students demonstrate a new understanding and mastery of the skill they will receive their new score.
Mid-Unit Tests & End-of-Unit Test
These tests are to assess understanding of grade-level standards. If students are not successful on the first try, there is an alternative assessment to help improve their grades.
