Book Club
We started Walk Two Moons this week! Assigned reading and written assignments are posted in Book Club Google Classroom.
April's Genre:
Fantasy - This month, your child should read a fantasy novel. Encourage your child to try a book they haven't read before. Read with your child if you can!! To stay on pace, your child should read about one-fourth of the book each week.
Each month, your child will read a different genre and analyze the text for plot elements, character traits, and genre characteristics. There will be a sheet to fill out while your child is reading, and at the end of the month, your child will have a writing assignment to complete helping add to their year-long Genre Project.
*Please ask your child about what they are reading and help them make sure they are keeping up with their reading each week!
***For novels - In class, we divide the number of pages in the book by the number of weeks in the month so students know how many pages they should be reading each week to stay on track to finish by the end of the month. Please check in with your child to see where they are in their book each week.
