If you see a star or smiley face on your child's work it represents a completion grade, here in first and second grade we are working on responsibility.
If you see a number grade 1-4 the work was graded with a specific learning target in mind.
1- Needs extra practice (Shows they need extra support with learning target)
2- Making progress (Shows they understand learning target most of the time)
3- Proficient (Shows they understand learning target consistently)
4-Above Proficient (Shows they understand the learning target in depth and can apply their knowledge)
