Mrs. Rendon
My name is Kristie Rendon and I am the speech language pathologist here at Stony Creek Elementary. I was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in the Green Mountain area. I graduated from Lakewood High School and went on to get my bachelor's degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver. After graduating from Metro I earned my master's degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
After graduating from graduate school I worked in Denver Public Schools for a year and a half. I then moved to Stony Creek Elementary and have been here ever since. This is my twenty-fifth year here and I still consider myself so lucky to come to such a great place to work and grow as a therapist. I love my team, the teachers, the families and most of all the students that I work with. It is amazing to see how much growth they make with their speech and language skills.
My husband and I have been married for twenty eight years and we have two wonderful boys. Our son, Brandon graduated from Chatfield Senior High School in 2018 and will graduate with a bachelor's degree in Biology in May. He is applying to graduate schools and will pursue a Master's Degree in Public Health-Epidemiology and Infectious Disease. Our other son, Sean is a junior at Chatfield Senior High School. He is excited to be senior next year. My husband and I are super proud of both of our boys.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, travel, read and do crafts. I also love to be outside and enjoy taking my dogs, Marley and Maddi for long walks. As a family we enjoy attending Rockies and Nuggets games too!
