Instructional Coach

My primary role at Slater is to impact student growth and achievement by supporting instruction through collaborative practices with every teacher and team. My goals are to understand and support current research and best practices around instruction and assist teachers in planning, data analysis, problem solving, and classroom engagement. Through this work, I help support a learning culture that teachers and students are proud to be part of.

I began my teaching career in 2007 and spent a total of 10 years in the classroom before moving into the instructional coach position. My classroom experiences have included 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade with a vast range of needs and student groups including ESL, ASD, and Gifted and Talented. I absolutely love teaching and learning. The best part about being a coach is that now I get to teach and learn alongside BOTH students and adults every day. The value of our teachers cannot be overstated. The dedication of a teacher is something to be admired in the biggest possible way. I want to support them, listen to them, work beside them, and inspire them...because they have an enormous influence on who our students will grow up to be.
