Mrs. Aranjo's BIO

Welcome back to school to all parents and students!!  I am so excited to get this year started. The other 2nd grade teachers and I have been planning various units and lessons for the new school year, and I can't wait to share and facilitate the learning with my students.

I am a Colorado native and grew up in the Denver area,  attending Denver Public Schools.  I am ever so grateful for the experience and teachers from my past.  After earning my high school degree from South High in 1987, I  attended Metropolitan State College. As I explored a variety of professions, I soon found that a career in teaching would allow me to wear a variety of professional hats and fulfill my desire to be a lifelong learner.   As a result, I have since obtained my Masters in Curriculum and Literacy Development, as well as an endorsement in Gifted Education.

My education philosophy is to meet students where they are and move forward from there. I see myself as a facilitator in the gifted classroom;  students come in with a passion for knowing more, and it is my role to guide and provide them the tools and strategies for the best learning.

I love to ride bikes with my family, play tennis, golf, hike, read books, and watch movies. Mostly I just love being outside.

With the support of my husband Paul and my two beautiful daughters Ella (18 years) and Eva (14 years), I realize the importance of maintaining a balance between home and school.   This allows me to put forth my best effort.  As well as working with the most amazing teachers!

I look forward to having your child in my class and a wonderful year of growth!
