ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Cory Goshorn is the instrumental music director at Evergreen High School, a position he has held for 5 years. With 12 years of teaching experience, Cory has significantly contributed to the growth and success of his students. He holds bachelor's degrees in music from the University of Northern Colorado and Metropolitan State University of Denver, and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Music Education from Adams State University.
At Evergreen High School, Cory has led the marching band to the state finals in both 2022 and 2023. His dedication and support also helped the Evergreen High School Winter Percussion Ensemble win the 2024 state championship. Recognized for his exceptional teaching abilities, Cory received the Jeffco Talented Teacher Award in 2023 and the Jeffco Value Awards for exemplary performance in 2020, 2022, and 2024.
In addition to these accolades, Cory was a quarter-finalist for the GRAMMY Music Educator Award in 2020 and a semi-finalist for the Music and Arts Music Educator Award, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in music education on a national scale.
A proud Colorado native, Cory resides in Golden with his wife and three children. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys mountain biking and golfing, pursuing these activities with the same passion he brings to his professional endeavors.
