About RamBands Bingo!
Every Monday night, GMHS Band Boosters host a Bingo session at Slammers Bingo (NE corner of Wadsworth & Jewell in Lakewood). This is an ongoing fundraiser for the band program and we invite everyone to join us!
About Bingo in Colorado:
Is a state licensed and closely monitored fundraiser for non-profit organizations.
Each organization that is licensed to conduct bingo games is, in a sense, operating its own independent business - purchasing supplies, rending a licensed facility, maintaining financial records, advertising, providing a volunteer work force, paying taxes, etc - all in accordance with Colorado State Gaming Laws.
Key things to know when coming to play:
Doors open at 6:00pm; bingo games begin at 7:30pm. Sessions usually last about 2 hours.
It is cash only. We cannot accept credit cards, Venmo, or anything else.... cold hard cash only.
Must be 18+ to purchase games & collect winnings but anyone age 8 and above can play. Each player must have their own receipt.
Cost: There is a $10 'buy-in' and then each bingo packet is $1.00. So you can play for as little as $11.00!! There are also machines for electronic bingo cards. Packages for those range from $30 - $60.
Bingo games:
We play 7 bingo games each night. Each has their own 'design' for the bingo such as Lucky T, Diamond, and Blackout with varying payouts ranging from $100 - $1100.
All games, except the progressive is double action. All this means is that there are 2 numbers per square instead of 1. This increases your chances of winning!! Either number called in that square gets you that box.
One of the games (game 6) is our progressive bingo game; this is a single action. The progressive game carries over money from each session until someone gets bingo within 52 balls or fewer! If there's a bingo with 52 or fewer then the winner gets the entire progressive bank - many times this is several thousand dollars!! If no one wins after 52 balls, the game continues and the winner gets a consolation prize of $200.
Progressive "MUST GO" - when the progressive pot has grown large enough, the organization can do a "must go" night. This means that no matter how long it takes to get a winner, they will get the entire amount of the progressive.
The Pickle Bar: The Pickle Bar provides players additional opportunities to win at Bingo as well as play other games. It is at the Pickle Bar where players can buy additional game sheets for our "special" games, side games, and pull tabs. Listed below are some of the more common game types played but can vary each session.
Specials: Three of the Bingo games we play each night are considered "Special". At the Pickle Bar you can buy additional play sheets ($1.00 or $3.00) for these special games. Payouts for these special games vary from $300 to $1100 or even more for our progressive game.
Side Games: These are games which are played along side / during a regular bingo game. So in addition to marking your bingo packet, you'd also watch for your numbers on the side game tickets you purchased. If you win the side game, you can earn anywhere from $100 to $500 depending upon the game. Side game tickets do also have some instant winners which can be redeemed right away for cash or additional tickets - instant winning amounts vary.
Pull Tabs: These are stand alone games (no bingo caller involvement) that are similar to pull tab or scratch off lottery games. You purchase a ticket & then pull the tabs off the card to see if you're a winner. Pull tabs can have winnings from $1.00 to several hundred dollars.
Other items of note:
Dabbers, tape, and glue are sold on-site: $2.00 each
There is a concession stand. They sell food and snacks - FYI...awesome burritos!! They only accept cash too!
There is an ATM on site but isn't always functional so plan ahead.
