General Art Info

In Art Class...

We research our subject  with the web, design and create our artwork, and work together to give each other feedback on our work.

We try out different ideas and approaches to solving the problems presented to us as an artist.

We examine master artworks, and discuss our preferences as an artist

We discuss why humans are driven to make art throughout the ages and the globe.

We collaborate to make art together and use the ideas of our peers.

We learn how to use art materials and tools.

We are practicing our fine motor skills with our hands and eyes.

We grow in confidence and self awareness as we achieve creating beautiful and unique works of art created with our HANDS!

The Annual Jeffco District Art Show

Each Spring Jeffco Public Schools hosts an annual Art Show for Elementary schools at Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood, CO.  Our school can select 12-15 student artworks to be on view during this event.  Our students have always represetned Fremont in an exciting and creative way!   If you can attend this art show, it is an amazing time to enjoy all the unique and imaginative artwork that kids design. It is so inspirational !

Clay Projects at Fremont

Clay is an important part of our Art curriculum at Fremont.  Each grade will create a clay project.   Our PTA contributes funding for our Art program which helps  purchase clay and glazes.  Our kids LOVE to touch and sculpt ceramic clay.  It is a terrific educational activity for you to offer  at home as well.  Often parents want to know where they can enroll in summer clay classes. I reccomend the Arvada Center, the APEX  Simms Street Clay Lab, Stone Leaf Pottery,  or the Teller Street Studio.
