Reading:  

•  Read 5 days a week for 15 minutes

• Book bag books

• Initial on Reading log each day your child reads

• Have child practice following along with their pointer finger and reading each word

• Use word attack strategies sheet for any unknown words

• Comprehension check in: Does it look right, sound right and make sense?  Practice retelling  the stories events  in order 

Sight word practice:

• Monster words: Practice reading nightly 

• Initial when student is ready and return to school

• Students receive a brag tag for their necklace each list they complete

Math: 

• Packets will be sent home weekly to review skills and math fact practice  

• Parent HW helpers should check over work before returning

• Studnets will take packets home every Friday and return by the following  Thursday to participate in Camp Fun and Games

• Students should be able to complete packet independently, as these are review skills and math fact practice
