Do you love to sing? Join the Choirbirds!

Dear 4th, and 5th Grade Students and Families,

On behalf of Fairmount Elementary and Fairmount Choirbirds, I would like to welcome your student to participate in the optional choir program for 4th and 5th graders!

Rehearsals will be Mondays and Wednesdays directly before school from 7:45-8:40am. Rehearsals will start Wednesday Sept. 7th. In rehearsals we will be developing the student’s singing voice, learning music for performances, practicing music literacy skills, and building community through song! Students that choose to join must understand that this is a commitment to themselves and to the ensemble. Therefore, musicians must give their best effort, be on time, and attend most rehearsals. (Attendance is taken at every rehearsal--musicians that are too frequently absent will not sing in our concerts.) I also ask that only students that are signed up join our rehearsals. Siblings/friends must have alternative supervised plans before school.

We will perform a variety of genres in choir. Audio files will be shared via students’ Jeffco google drive accounts to practice at home and sheet music will be kept in folders in the building. Schedules for rehearsals and concerts will be handed out during the first rehearsal. Please plan on a spring semester concert in April.

Cost: 20.00 (cash or check written to Fairmount Elementary-please put your student’s name in the “for” section). This will go towards a t-shirt and music. Do not hesitate to reach out if you need financial assistance. Please label the money with the student’s name in an envelope. I will collect funds from now until Wednesday, Sep. 7th.

Please drop off students in the parking lot to enter through the main entrance of the school, using the doorbell.
